Amazing fishing locations
All of the non glacier streams along the highway present an opportunity for great fishing and several of the lodges offer giuded tours to some of the most amazing back country Alaska fishing.
Jeep tours
The Alpine Creek Lodge has several guided tours where you get to expereince the Alaska nature up close and options to combine it with hiking or fishing.
Glacier tent camp
The Maclaren River Lodge has a tent camp up river from where you can hike to see the glacier, enjoy a outback woodstove hottub and a river float back.
Dog sledding
Try running your own dog sled with veteran Iditarod mushers Paige and Cody at the Susitna Adventure Lodge.
Wildlife
There is plenty of wildlife all along the highway and depending on when and where you are you may see moose, carribu, bears and many different kind of birds.
Hunting
All the lodges welcome hunters and makes a great base or starting point for any hunting trip. The lodges do not provide guided hunting but has a lot of experience hosting hunters.
Riding snowmachines
The Maclaren River and Alpine Creek lodges are open during the winter and offer a base with accommodation, restaurent and bar service for those who want to experience riding in the epic Alaska Range mountains.
Glacier river floating
Experince floating down the Maclaren glazier river. The Maclaren River Lodge provides both transport up river and canoe rental. It is about a 3 hour float that you can also combine with a overnight stay at the glazier tent camp.c
